OUR TEAM

Daniel Orona
President/CEO
Daniel Orona, founder of Durabuild Construction Inc., began his entrepreneurial journey at just 18 years old when he started his first company specializing in plaster and stucco. This early experience in the trades gave him a strong foundation in craftsmanship, discipline, and the importance of delivering quality work.
Daniel later pursued higher education at ITT Technical Institute, where he earned a degree in Computer and Applied Science. Following graduation, he spent seven years working as a Computer Network Engineer and IT Manager, gaining valuable experience in corporate systems, project coordination, and business operations.
While working in the technology field, Daniel remained closely connected to the construction industry. Over time, he found himself increasingly drawn to the process of building—particularly the satisfaction of seeing projects take shape from concept to completion.
Motivated by this passion, Daniel committed himself to learning the broader aspects of general construction. He spent several years working alongside experienced builders and trusted mentors, gaining hands-on training in project management, construction systems, and industry best practices.
After years of preparation and experience, Daniel achieved one of his long-term goals by obtaining his New Mexico General Contractor’s License (GB-98) and founding Durabuild Construction, Inc. in 2017.
Today, Daniel brings more than 20 years of combined experience in construction, business operations, and project management. Under his leadership, Durabuild has grown into a respected construction firm known for its attention to detail, reliability, and commitment to excellence.
Daniel has assembled a team of skilled construction professionals who share his company values of integrity, craftsmanship, and uncompromising customer service. Together, the Durabuild team brings over 40 years of combined experience in design, construction, and project delivery.

Scott Irving
Designer/Builder
Scott Irving received a Bachelor of Science in Architectural Design from California Polytechnic State University in San Luis Obispo, California, graduating in June of 1980.
During his high school and college summers, Scott gained early experience working with civil engineering and land surveying firms in Simi Valley and San Luis Obispo, California. These formative experiences helped build his understanding of site planning, land development, and construction fundamentals.
Following graduation, Scott began his professional career as a Project Architect, first with Gary Dean Zimmer and later with Burton Ward’s architectural firm in Westlake Village, California, where he worked on a variety of residential and commercial design projects.
During the economic downturn of the early 1980s, Scott transitioned into the aerospace industry, where he spent six years working as a Mechanical Engineer. In this role, he managed a department responsible for the design and production of military radar systems and commercial satellite components, gaining extensive experience in engineering systems, technical coordination, and complex project management.
In 1988, Scott relocated to Santa Fe, New Mexico, where he joined the architectural firm of Sharon Woods, widely recognized as the author of The Santa Fe Style. During his time there, Scott helped modernize the firm’s design process by transitioning the office to Computer-Aided Design (CAD), significantly improving design efficiency and project coordination.
In 1991, Scott obtained his New Mexico General Contractor’s License and launched his own Design/Build firm, which he successfully operated for more than two decades. Over the course of his career as a builder, Scott designed and constructed more than 100 custom homes throughout Northern New Mexico, developing a reputation for thoughtful design, craftsmanship, and deep knowledge of Santa Fe architectural traditions.
Scott began consulting with Durabuild Construction in 2017, bringing his decades of design and construction expertise to the company. In 2019, he began collaborating more closely with Durabuild on Design/Build projects, and in 2020 he formally joined the team.
Today, Scott serves as Designer / Builder for Durabuild Construction Inc., where he plays a key role in guiding the company’s Design/Build services, working closely with clients to transform ideas into carefully crafted homes and projects.
With more than 40 years of experience in architecture, engineering, and construction, Scott’s leadership and expertise continue to strengthen Durabuild’s mission of delivering exceptional projects. Together, the team is working to establish Durabuild Construction Inc. as one of the premier Design/Build firms in Northern New Mexico.
